New Band Saw

Posted by Travis , in Videos, Shop Projects Oct 23, 2015 · 1,293 views

I just got a new bandsaw! Here's an unboxing of the 14" Grizzly G0555LANV bandsaw. I'm did something a little different in this video and shot it Vlog style (video blogging). This video is the unboxing of my new bandsaw. I don't show how it is assembled, but I do add updates along the way. Needless to say, I'm thrilled with my new shop addition. Now I can resaw my own lumber for scrollwork and other projects.

Here's some links I mentioned in the video:
Enjoy the show!

Really nice bandsaw. I am proud for you to be able to upgrade. Happy sawing.

That is soooo nice. That is one shop tool I am in sore need of.

I have this saw also.  It has served me well a few years now.  I use it mostly for re-sawing cedar and maple.

Looking good there. No stopping you now. You may be aware of the video by Alex Snodgrass, which is a good way to ensure your bandsaw works well.

THE BEST FROM A BANDSAW 'Alex Snodgrass of Carter Industries has an excellent video   on a tune up method that works well, but if you want to get the best use of your bandsaw on an ongoing basis, then the Steve Maskery DVD's will show you far more and they are a real investment.   http://www.workshopessentials.com/shop/ '.

Good luck

I am on a slow hunt for band saw but ran across something interesting. You may or may not know this but Grizzly makes a riser block kit that give you cutting capacity to 12" high instead of 6".

Yah, I saw that.  I'll probably add a riser block in the future.  Right now, the bandsaw seems to work fine for what I'm doing.  But it would be nice to resaw some thicker material.
