Part 2 - Uploading to User Gallery and Pattern Library




For those who like written instructions, here's a step by step on how to create a User Gallery album and upload your pix.

1- First, be sure you're logged in.

2 - Click Create/Order My Albums button in the navigation bar.


3) You'll be taken to the Album Manager screen. Click the New button. This will create a new album called "New Album". Select whichever album you wish to rename in the list box. You can rename the album in the text box below.


4) When you're done, click the Apply Modifications button. You'll get a pop-up dialog box asking if you want to make the modification. Choose OK.


5) You'll get a screen that will tell you if you were successful or not. Just choose Continue.


6) Choose the files you want to upload and press Continue.


7) You'll get another screen to tell you if you were successful or not. Just Choose Continue.


8) This is where you fill in your file info. First be sure to choose the album you just created by selecting that album in the pulldown.


9) Then just fill in the other fields. When you're done, press Continue.


10) Another success screen! Just press Continue and your stuff has been uploaded to your own personal Gallery. Just browse to your gallery (or select My Gallery from the Nav Bar) and you'll see your pix!

Inserting Gallery Images Into Forum Posts
Howdy all. I've created another video tutorial. This time we're looking at how to use BB Code taken from the User Gallery or Pattern Library so you can post a thumbnail picture into your forum post. This is a great way to share pictures from your personal User Gallery, or a pattern from the Pattern Library. Enjoy!

How To Attach A Picture/Document To A Forum Post

This is a quick tutorial on how to add attachments to a forum posts. Remember, if you are displaying pictures from the Pattern Library or your User's Gallery, be sure to use the BB Code instead of attaching. You can find the tutorial on how to insert gallery images into posts above.

1. Below your compose window, you'll find a blue box. Click the tab that says Upload Attachment.

2. Click the Browse button next to the Filename field. Then browse to the document/picture on your hard drive you wish to attach.

3. After you have chosen your document, click the Add The File button next to the Browse button. This will upload your document/picture to the server.

4. You will now see a box below your compose window called Posted Attachments. This lists all of the attachments currently uploaded to your post. You can add comments about the image in the File Comment field, or leave it blank. You also have two buttons below your filename. Place Inline means that it will post your image/document inside your compose window. This is handy when doing tutorials as each picture refers to a specific step and you can place the picture next to the step. If you choose not to place your document inline, it will attach the document to the end of your post instead.

The second button is pretty self explanatory; Delete file. This will delete your file from the server.

When you're done composing your post, click the Submit button, and your post, along with the attachments, are posted to the forum.

Note: You can upload multiple attachments. Just repeat the steps above for each attachment. You can upload up to 5 separate attachments per post. Each attachments is limited to 2 megs.
