This forum behaves differently from the other forums on this website. Here's how:
- You will not be able to create topics. Topics will only be created by the instructor and each topic will refer to a particular lesson within the class.
- You can post replies within topics . Ask questions, offer feedback and generally discuss what's being taught.
- You can post attachments. If you're having trouble you may post pictures, screen shots or source files to get feedback. Sometimes, you may be asked to submit a file as part of the class.
A couple things to keep in mind:
- Please actively participate in class discussions. Asking questions or offering new ideas is how we all learn. The more you participate, the more you and the rest of us will get out of the class.
- Many of these classes will discuss a specific aspect of scroll sawing or pattern making. Please keep the discussion on topic. For example, don't ask "How do I do this in Photoshop" if the class is about using GIMP. There are other forums that are more appropriate for that type of question.
- Please keep discussions within the class. Don't email or PM the instructor with questions. Rather post them within the forum so others may benefit from your question and the instructor's response.
- Although these classes will remain open, you will get more out of the class if you participate as it is happening. There will naturally be a larger community actively participating in the discussions as each lesson is released.
- The teacher isn't the end-all source. There are hundreds of ways to accomplish the same task. You may offer your own advice if it doesn't distract or veer too far off of what is being taught.
- Lastly, have fun. What you get out of these structured classes is directly proportional to what you put into it. So have fun.
If you have an idea for a class you'd like to teach, email or PM me and we can discuss your ideas!
