To all of my SSV friends...............
I'm sure that those of you who have followed any of my posts over the years have started seeing a change in some of my latest replies or posts. I do sincerely apologize if I offended anybody. It was not my intent, I guarantee you. There are some behind the scenes things going on in my and my wife's lives right now that have weighed heavily on both of us. The worst of which is that she fell a couple of weeks ago and broke her femur to the extent that they had to replace the ball at the top. Needl
Fill & Stroke in Inkspace
Hi all I need some help please, my eyes are not so good, so I cut with a pair of readers and use an illuminated magnifying glass. A friend of mine prepared a pdf pattern for before our relocation where the Infill was 50% gray and the Stroke was Black .5 thickness ( I like using Red but I don’t have a A3 printer so Ineed to have my pattern printed at the print shop, the problem I have is as soon as you tell them it’s twovolorthe charge you the color price which is three times more expensive than
Really bad experience with White Limba lumber
Just curious if anyone else has worked with White Limba wood. I went to Woodcraft in Birmingham Alabama and they have a large bin of cut-offs that are $2 a pound. It had a lot of quarter sawn White Limba, which I'd never heard of. It looked great for portraits and I bought just over 60 pounds thinking I wouldn't have to buy any wood for a year. 🤪 It's so hard I broke about 6 drill bits and a dozen blades on my first small project, plus I've been really sick with sinus and chest congestion for 5
Dogwood - finished
Got this finished today. You can see the progress in "works in progress". Finished with three coats of shellac. I wouldn't normally show the back but I love the grain!!
Finally, finally, FINALLY!
I finally completed this project. I took me the longest of any project I have tried in my years of scrolling. Took two tries. I wanted to make a picture of a modern diesel train engine for my nephew-in-law that is a conductor. I could not find a pattern of one. Talking to @munzieb one time I mentioned it to him, he told to send him a picture of what you want and he would make a pattern. And he did, a real detailed pattern. A beautiful pattern.. I worked on it, gave up once, then decided t
Spring Welcome Sign
Made this for my flower loving wife for Spring for our front porch. It's about 12" X 20". I'm not sure of the wood type. It looks like oak but it's light as balsa wood and is quite strong. The pattern is from a stencil I bought on Etsy.
