Well Chief, lets get started with you filling out the required paperwork.

The 'Forum' has 'Coffee House' has 'Rogues Gallery' needs your mug shot

Everybody except boBscroll has participated. This is to prove you are not

a CNC machine of which boB might be.

We love slow learners, check out how long Roly has been here.

Hans,I must say, is the mad fret scroller. Look at what he scrolls if you doubt me.

#2, questions are required.

#3 pictures are a must...........one of your insignia so a pattern can be made for your

                                       first scroll project.

#4 see #2 & 3

#5 see #4                   What scroll saw do you have????????????

Hi John, welcome to the Village.  I'm Marg from Australia.  No matter how silly you think the question may be ask anyway, we have all asked them and how are you supposed to learn if you don't ask.  Join us regularly in the Coffee Shop for a good laugh and a cup of coffee.

I too wish to welcome you to The Scroll Saw Village Family. We all enjoy our new members who quickly find out that they stumbled onto some of the nicest people on the planet. Of course ever family as an old grump somewhere among the group and i just happen to be the family 'old grump'.. Because everything is done over the internet here, I have not had the opportunity to bite anyone yet, but I am lurking in the sawdust from the scrollsaws. :x

Really though,  take a long stroll around the Village and check out the great teaching videos that Travis  has posted here in the university part. most important thing is....come back here often. Trust me, you will never regret it if you do.

Thanks again for the welcome - question for you folks, I'm having a difficult time transferring my laser-jet image to wood using an iron (old vintage iron that heats up to 550 deg.) -- help?

John, I do not think there are many here that use iron-on (if I'm wrong,I'll hear about it).

Most use spray glue. Here are the steps I use to attach a pattern.

1) Prep wood, cut, rout, sand smoooooth.

2) Use either Blue Painters Tape or Glad Press and Seal on the wood.

3) Spray glue pattern and attach to Blue Painters Tape or Glad Press and Seal

4) Overlay or top with clear packing tape.

For small projects I just spray glue back of pattern and attach to wood.

After I have finished cutting, I use lacquer thiner to remove glue and rest of pattern.

I Don't are too much for spry glue. I use Scotch brand painters tape as stated by Larry and I use stick blue spared on the tape and the pattern pressed on to it . I use a wallpapers roller to make sure the pattern is attached properly. I can do this while I am watching TV at night. but to each his own,

IKE

Thanks Larry and Ike -- learning from you guys and the web site -- slow process the older I get!!

John

Chief John, Next question you ask, make it on a 'new' post.

Lots have already checked this out and may not expect a question here.

WE all like questions, so do!!! ask!! WE learn or re-learn from your questions.

Thats important to us old guys.....

One other thing I like to promote is searches.

Every Forum has a search engine at the top right.

Example: Go to General Scroll Sawing and search for "Attach a pattern".

See what you get.
