Posting photo of my work for the first time

Given the collection of extreme talent located on this site, I have been hesitant to post any photos of the work I've done.  I'm not selling anything (yet), but I have done a special request at cost.  Many of the people (friends) that have asked for something, asked for tablet-stands...such is the case here.  This is a tablet stand built for a friend of the family.  It is made out of 1/2-inch Walnut and backed with 1/4-inch Padauk.  The pattern is a modified version of one on Steve Good's site.

I hope you enjoy!post-31141-0-73974400-1487773467_thumb.jpgpost-31141-0-91321100-1487773468_thumb.jpg

Don't be afraid of showing your projects that one turned out great.   Nice choice of woods they contrast real well.   That friend of the family should be pleased.    It seems a shame to cover up the cowboy and cowgirl with a tablet though.   Just kidding!

Thanks!  Yes, a shame to cover them up, but tablet stands, phone stands...are popular requests that aren't likely to go away any time soon.  I'm not looking to go into business, but side-item sales don't hurt either!  For now, I'm just learning and having a great time...

Jeff thanks for posting. I think it looks fine and will be well received I am sure. I made a stand for a IPhone using that pattern and modified for size. A request from a co worker so she could work on the computer and other desk things and still talk with her emplyees and her boss. Worked well for her.  I do not have a camera or even a photo program so unfortunately no photo posting. would be nice to get feed back. Keep posting.

I agree, please don't hesitate to post your projects.  I have been using the saw for less than a year so I promise that I myself am pretty green and it shows in my work.  However, seeing the work of each other gives us many things - one inspiration, two knowledge to see how someone else handled doing a project, and good feedback when you want - just ask.  I think it looks great.  I made the small one Steve has for the phone, didn't quite fit the phones we had so I gave it away to a BIL.  Still want to make one that works with my phone and one for my tablet.  So many ideas - so little time!  Thanks for sharing your photo.
