heppnerguy Posted March 25, 2017 Report Share Posted March 25, 2017 Well I finally finished the Marine Corp symbol plaque that I was making as a request for a friend who retired from the marines last summer and now has two of his friends also retiring in a couple of months. So I go back on line, looked up the symbol and made a new pattern for it. I think they should like it. It is made of black walnut, Alder, Juniper, and pine. It is an honor to have something I have made be a gift for someone that has given so much for our country. I sort of traced the pattern onto a piece of 1/4 in BB Ply. then cut it, placed the plaque on it, recut again. glued on the pieces and then recut once more.. I find it much easier to cut the Intarsia pieces then do all the small holes and small cuts in scrolling and I haven't done anything big yet! Nice job on this project.
