History

Scroll Saw Goodies was created by Travis Cook. The first post, entitled Mission Statement was published on Oct. 7, 2007 [1]. What started out as a simple blog to bookmark interesting and useful information related to scroll sawing, quickly turned into a great online resource in its own right. Highlighting free patterns made the blog very popular among scrollers. In the spirit of open and free distribution of information, Scroll Saw Goodies expanded into what is now known as Scroll Saw Village, an online community that fosters creativity, sharing and friendship.

Scroll Saw Goodies remains an active blog, highlighting a wide variety of resources on the internet available to scrollers. Scroll Saw Goodies also publishes a podcast, a downloadable internet radio/tv show discussing topics related to the scroll sawing hobby. Most notably a screencast demonstrating various pattern designing techniques.

Scroll Saw Goodies was originally hosted by Blogger.com. However, they moved to Scroll Saw Village on January 1, 2009 with the expansion of their services. The original version of Scroll Saw Goodies still exists on Blogger.com[2], for archival purposes. However, all posts were copied over to Scroll Saw Village. Eventually, Scroll Saw Goodies moved to its own server, separating the focused blog from the freeform community. Scroll Saw Goodies continues to add information and videos about the scroll saw hobby.
