Ole Greenie here again--can anyone tell me what the best resolution for a photo to make a pattern from?

I have seen some say the resolution is too small to work with.

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate all the help I get from this site.

The best photographs for making patterns are taken in natural light, close up, minimal shadows, get rid of the sunglasses. If you can get a picture 6 inches or larger at 150 dpi then you should be able to get a decent pattern. Ideally I like 8 X 10 single subject head and shoulders at 150 dpi.
