Working on my second bowl. Need to glue, stain and clear coat. This on is a bit larger than the last one. The first bowl was 8 inches and this one is 14.5 inches.

I bought a board from Lowes that was 16" × 36". It is big enough to make two bowls.

That has come out nicely.  Cut it myself several years ago and EVERY member of my family and the wife's family had to have one.
