Scrappile Posted January 16, 2019 Report Posted January 16, 2019 I have spent a couple hours looking to a scroll saw pattern version of this picture. My daughter has requested I cut one for her. Just wondering if anyone has come across a pattern for it. This picture if from Pinterest. I can find all kinds of pictures of it but no scroll saw pattern. Quote
don in brooklin on Posted January 16, 2019 Report Posted January 16, 2019 (edited) I can probably do something close. Do you want as overlay or fretwork, What size are you looking for? I assume you want to have scrollable fonts? The attached is first DRAFT. The script needs to have bridges added and some clip art added. But it this the idea? WayneMahler Posted January 16, 2019 Report Posted January 16, 2019 Nice work Don. It can always be done as an overlay also. Quote
Scrappile Posted January 16, 2019 Author Report Posted January 16, 2019 (edited) I had planed on fret work, because that is what I usually think of. That looks great, certainly what I am going for. Can you add the "and" sign after the "Beside Us" and "the Love" like in the picture I gave. I really appreciate this. Edited January 16, 2019 by Scrappile Quote
don in brooklin on Posted January 16, 2019 Report Posted January 16, 2019 I should have pointed that out but I had to find a font with a close &. Will do tonight Scrappile 1 Quote
don in brooklin on Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 (edited) Please look over and see if you see any issues. Adding bridges to this font may not be exact = so when you print out in your size please check to see if not too delicate. The current size of the image is 7 x 10 on a 8 1/2 x 11 page. I also attached a pdf so you could use the "poster" feature to enlarge to your desired size. Let me know if you want any changes. blessv1.pdf Edited January 18, 2019 by don in brooklin on UPDATED FOR BRIDGES Ivan Nikolaev, Scrolling Steve, GPscroller and 2 others 5 Quote
Scrappile Posted January 17, 2019 Author Report Posted January 17, 2019 Don, that looks great to me. I am going to see if I can do it justice. Thank you so very much. Quote
spirithorse Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Thanks very much for helping with the requests, Don, Excellent pattern! God Bless! Spirithorse Quote
Scrappile Posted January 18, 2019 Author Report Posted January 18, 2019 @don in brooklin on well stupid me, got so excited to cut this,,,, I missed where it needs some sort of bridge. Of coarse, I discovered the first on when I made a cut and the pieces fell out!!! I need a "slap my forehead" emoticon! I saw a weak spot in the word BEFORE in the second line. The R could us another bridge at the top like is on the "D" ad "B". I noted that and added it when I got that far. What I didn't catch until I had screwed up was the "T" in the the third line. No bridge where the top of the "T" goes over though the top of the (see my picture". Same with the "T" in the 5th line. I'm not sure how/where bridge(s) would go there. I guess just before where it hits the "h". Just wanted to post this so hopefully if someone else if going to cut this, they will not do as I did. No harm, I will start over and save what I have here, just in case I want to play around at fixing it after I get a good one for my daughter. I feel pretty dumb right about now! Quote
Rockytime Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 That is a terrific pattern! Sometimes I tend to overlook making a bridge and have to start over. I hate that! Quote
don in brooklin on Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 Sorry about missing the bridges. I have updated the image and pdf above but please check carefully. Scrappile 1 Quote

I have updated the image and pdf above but please check carefully. Not your fault, I just got in too big of a hurry and in the scrolling zone, out of the pay attention zone. I have already restarted I just marked the areas to watch for this time and I will proceed a little slower I really appreciate you doing this for me. Quote
Scrappile Posted January 20, 2019 Author Report Posted January 20, 2019 I got to looking at the first cut I did of this and screwed it up, and I'm thinking I can easily fix it. It is suppose to be painted so I can glue a bridge in where it needed one and be good to go... I will have some extra copies for gifts or something. Quote
GPscroller Posted January 20, 2019 Report Posted January 20, 2019 Awesome pattern Don, thanks. Jeff Quote
