oldhudson Posted January 23, 2019 Report Posted January 23, 2019 (edited) I haven't posted anything in ages, but I can assure you I've been busy. Here's a little project. The legs are pw, the rest is just pine from a big box store. The large board on the top are two boards glued together. The legs are held on with dowels. The decoration on the legs was scrolled. The plans were from the Carmichael Workshop. Edited January 23, 2019 by oldhudson Falcon, jollyred, meflick and 4 others 7 Quote
Scrappile Posted January 23, 2019 Report Posted January 23, 2019 (edited) Nice one! My dog's is raised, but not that pretty. It's an old rod iron flower pot holder that his dish just happen to fit in,,, but don't tell him, he tells all the neighbors' dogs I made it for him... JAC1961 Posted January 26, 2019 Report Posted January 26, 2019 I made one out of melamine years ago for our dogs. It's survived 3 dogs and literally gallons of slobber. Wonderful work! oldhudson 1 Quote

I thought long and hard about using melamine for the top on this, but there are the two or four exposed edges (depending on the stock) and then there's that white "Ikea" look. I could add wood edging, which might have been a nice? I sealed it with 1 coat of shellac and 3 coats of poly. I don't expect it to last forever. I'm not even sure having a raised station makes sense, but it was a fun project and I like the final look. JAC1961 1 Quote
