I went through the series on making a portrait pattern using GIMP but it has been over a year. Decided to try another one and my problem is when I get into GIMP the tool bar window can't be moved off of the main page and I cannot get to the bottom of the main page to change the settings to inches or whatever. It just won't go to the bottom of the page. Do I maybe need to refresh GIMP or possibly delete it and reload it? As you have probably figured out, not real computer literate. Appreciate any help.

Thanks, Gary

Not sure if I'm following you or not. But GIMP works a bit different than other Windows programs. The canvas, tool box, and other windows actually float over your desktop (kinda like how a Mac works). So I'd check to see if one of these windows is maximized. If it is, click the double box icon in the upper right corner (the one to the left of the X) and resize the window.

If one of the windows (toolbox, etc) is too big for the screen, you'll have to resize it. Hover your mouse over the top of that window until it turns into an a double arrow and click drag it down to resize. Then move the window up a bit. If it needs more resizing, just repeat the process. When finished, reposition all the windows so you can see each one fully. I like the toolbox to the left, canvas big and in the center, and the layers to the right. Then you have your workspace ready for your project.

I'm not sure if I answered your question or not.

Thanks Travis your help is much appreciated. Now back to the University to refresh my memory. I let way to much time pass and our extreme hot weather is a great time to refresh as my shop is not air conditioned. Again my thanks.
