Popular Post Zoot Fenster Posted May 28, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted May 28, 2022 Still learning techniques from beginners books. This was practice in making a shim and shaping the fish as one piece. Curly maple, mahogany, light walnut, butternut, redwood. The background is curly maple dyed blue. Should have rotated it 90 degrees. The lines are more prominent that the CM "waves". I'll know next time. Carving is getting better. Pretty happy with it overall. Hawk Posted May 28, 2022 Report Posted May 28, 2022 (edited) Looks great, I have that same pattern, maybe this will give me the incentive to get er done. I do have the bass cut out, but it's just laying on the bench right now. Love the dyed blue maple, and your right about the grin orientation, flipping 90 degrees would be better. Still, really cool !
