My beloved wife and I bought a variable speed 1 inch belt sander, and would one day like to move up from our Wen portable handheld oscillating spindle sander to a stationary tabletop version. We use the belt sander very often on our shop projects and  some of our scrollings for touch up. The upgraded oscillating spindle sander would be useful in a number of ways. We needed a sturdy but inexpensive dedicated table on wheels to move around in our little shop. The 42 1/2 inch long top is thrown-away pieces of forklift stack spacers from the Big Box Home Store dumpster, milled down and laminated (1 7/8 inch thick). The legs and apron are same throw-outs. Half lap screwed and glued joints everywhere and oak cleats attaching the top to the aprons. Did need to buy one 2 X 8 X 8 yellow pine board to make lower rails. The 3/4 inch plywood bottom shelf was damaged lumber from their markdown cart. Heavy duty locking casters were $12 a set of four on Amazon.

I'll craft a stack of hanging drawers for one end under the top when I snag some 70% off plywood at lumber store. Underneath at other end I plan to store our 5 gallon shop vac that will power fixed dust collection ducts to the two machines on top. Will be able to detach the vac though to use for other vacuuming duties. Will be nice to have much of our sanding stuff close at hand.

Wonderful these days to save a few dollars wherever you can. Don.

Thank youn all. A friend wants to buy our almost new Wen portable spindle sander and we'll put that toward a Wen tabletop sander. It'll go at the end opposite the small belt sander. I'm making a drawer set for accessories. Still mostly scrap and heavily discounted lumber. Don
