  3. wooden kinectic sculptures use BB alot. I have used 1/8" as backers for intarsia.
  4. I usually wait too long to wax the table. Not this time. So this is just a reminder.
  5. I did did this with a 26" hawk. I had to take the legs off to fit in my car. No truck needed.
  6. to have alcohol a solid so the scroll saw can cut it takes quite a bit of coldness. At 32 deg alcohol does not freeze. Then after you cut into a chair it be a bit cold to sit on. I know I am being dumb..... engineer.
  7. Just to give you more info. The old chair was a drafting style chair I found behind office building. It lasted about 3 yrs before my bottom went numb. So my wife found this Viper chair. Boy does it roll. I have to have a foot mat under it. It took me about 3 weeks for my bottom to adjust. But now I sit in it for 4 to 5 hours at a time. I still work from home. On the weekends I roll it over to my scrollsaw and it does good.
  8. Nice... I do like the darker ones. Can be re-purposed as gears?
  9. Here is an Interesting thought... With the market of home exercise equipment this would do well. Lets just modernize it and put in on 3 items... 1 treadmill 2 stair stepper 3 exercise bike. us old guys can loose weight while doing a great hobby.
  10. Not to generic. The color is in the imagination for sure. I say this because of the color challenge. That is a good way to get a scholarship.
  11. This project has taken me along time almost a year. Yea I lost interest for awhile. It is almost working. I have a few tunings to do. It is almost is done. I need to get an empty wine bottle instead of a soda bottle. I need to change out the white kite string. The design is called "Merlot" from Derek Hugger. Since the wine name I stayed with that theme and hand painted grape vines on the lever arms. The backing is wine slats from winery. The Purple and yellow are stained. All wood is baltic birch plywood. Except the backer slats. I wanted to try a kinetic sculpture but did not want a clock. These plans are easy to follow. But the assembly and tuning is always tweaking stuff. Ballancing by adding weights. This is huge 44 inches wide. I don't have a band saw so it was all cut with scroll saw.
  12. Oh it is a box. !!!! My cat loves boxes. Anyway good job on the box. The sides look like the time consuming parts. You can stack cut but still takes a while. Me. Mark Eason
  13. It looks like the eagle shield is inlaid. What wood is the stripes? Me. Mark Eason
  14. Having seen owls in thier nest in trees, I prefer the brown one. Having seen owls in head lights, swoop packrats in the night desert. I still prefer the brown one. But the black one definitely has the night owl concept. Ever get that feeling someone is watching you? I did when I was 12 yrs old, I was being watched by a white owl in the desert during the day. So why not do a white owl? screen shot from internet.
  15. I think you're right. I did not see any problems. You don't make mistakes.
  16. those are pretty cool. But... where is the wart hog.
  17. Interesting discovery for something different. Very impressed with both the "different" selection and the execution. To me finding something new is the hard part. I like the 2nd one more. It shows action. The long boots are twisted a bit and indicates she is changing direction. Me. Mark Eason
  18. i can see white clouds... OR icebergs. Either one works. Nice project.
  19. n i i i i c e. I like the kidney bean shape.

  21. Do we give refunds for returnee's. I probably joined during your away time. There has been some really nice stuff made. Painting is a big step of progress. In general adding color have various methods. Remind us what saw(s) you use, blades, etc... These guys and gals here helped me get through my struggles, frustrations. Let the community help.
  22. hey, this is very nice. But there is no description , is it inlaid, carved, stained painted?
  23. Great we can see 21 inch bowls, and cowboy Hats?
  24. I like it. The different length of pedals give it a natural non-symetric look. But over view shows symetric. A good combination. Daisies?
  25. Oh cool... A quick video would be nice for wheel sounds.
