LarryEA Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 I need to buy new blades for my table saw and for miter saw. Current blades are 10" with 60T. Any recommendations as to the best place to purchase We have the typical HomeDepot, Sears,Walmart, Harbor Crap and Lowes. Thanks Quote
amazingkevin Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 Go to the harbor,Blades wash in now and then at a fraction of the price of the big box stores, carbide to. That's what i'm running. You have to look thru all the blades as they get mixed up from the customers. LarryEA 1 Quote

Bendita Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 In Canada at a lot of home improvement places you can buy exchange blades and router bits You bring in your old blade and for the cost of sharpening you get one in return, I never got a bad blade from them. I would check to see if it is available where you live. LarryEA 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 I really like the Freud (Diablo) saw blades. Great blades, lower end of mid range in price. You can get them at Home Depot. I have a Woodworker II blade that doesn't cut any better than my Freud blades. I don't think you buy your scroll saw blades at Harbor Frieght, I don't buy my tables saw blades from them either. Nothing against HF, I purchase some items from them, but I wouldn't recomment some of their stuff also. LarryEA and browders 2 Quote
MickM Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 I agree I have three Frued Diablo blades, a fine rip and crosscut blades for my Bosch table saw and fine finish on my miter saw. These cut as nice as my cabinet saw ever did. My theory is less expensive saw with a great blade is the best. I put these blades on the day the saws were new and did a sample cut and you could see and feel the difference. Ripping with the new, better blade was a huge difference (Bosch May be a little underpowered) Quote
amazingkevin Posted September 11, 2014 Report Posted September 11, 2014 I forgot about the saw sharpener from Harbor .I own one and sharpened all my blades with it. Nice tool but some huge wing nuts would help greatly in setting it up instead of wrenches. It uses a tile saw diamond blade to sharpen carbide and a stone wheel for non carbide blades.I like it but it needs refining to make it a great tool, which you can do yourself. browders Posted September 11, 2014 Report Posted September 11, 2014 Never really felt like I had the right touch to use a sharpener. I like the Freud blade because I can get enough years use out of one to make me not have to tell a whopper to my wife to justify buying a new one. We don't have a Harbor Freight, so it's either Home Depot or Lowes for me. LarryEA 1 Quote
