rjR Posted December 23, 2014 Report Posted December 23, 2014 The engine in our Prodigy Powerhouse Mini-skid steer loader is becoming very "IFFY" -- we know it has been running on hope for the last few years. A new replacement is unavailable as far as we can find! This is a Honda 530 CXV engine. HELP! What engines ??? will bolt in and spline into our pump. I inch shaft about 3-1/4 long. Should we replace the pump about 850 hours; while we have it apart? It is impossible to get to the pump without puling the engine.. Any help, source for that exact engine or a "bolt-in" replacement engine are very much appreciated. Thanks to all. I priced out parts and will have above $2000 in a rebuild on just parts to do it right! I know I need at least one maybe 2 new cylinders- rods (Crank??) etc. So total replacement looks like the better option! On top of that I do ot like working on the small engines! Prefer American V-8's. amazingkevin 1 Quote
WoodBarter Posted December 23, 2014 Report Posted December 23, 2014 (edited) RJ I can't help you but if it makes you feel any better I'm about to go down the same road with my Daewoo DSL 601. The 42HP Kubota diesel is still in good running condition and pretty strong still but I still have to yank the engine to tear the skid steer down to parade rest and completely go through the hydraulic system and almost certainly replace the hydro pump and who knows what else. Not looking forward to it. I'll be watching your progress and hoping you come out of it with as few dings as possible (physically and monetarily!). Edited December 23, 2014 by WoodBarter Quote
