Steve Curtis Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Good morning my scroll buddies, Yesterday I made lots of cuts. I am also working on one of Rus's pattern, the blue bird and house. I am not a spiral blade user, only because this old scroller has used the other blades for so many years. My question here is how do you know when the blade is on tight? I broke 2 blades when changing after cuts, I only made 6 cut outs with 2 blades, If I keep doing this, I will run out of them in no time. On the other blades I can hear the "C" sound, on the spirals I hear an "S" sound as in S***! Let me know how you fellas do. P.S. I know I can't be the only one asking this. And, Sorry in advance if this is a boring topic. Steve AlfrediaMum 1 Quote
Scrolling Steve Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Steve, I use a lot of 3/0 spiral blades and always listen for the c note. I have to admit i am not sure exactly what a c note is supposed to sound like, but i can now pick up the sound that works. They do need to be nice and tight. Good luck! Quote
Steve Curtis Posted February 22, 2015 Author Report Posted February 22, 2015 Thank you Steve, I am almost totally deaf. So I am like you. I just play it by feel. I will try it again soon. Quote
LarryEA Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Maybe I have the touch. I basically do a one finger tight. What are you cutting? Tight turns break blades. Quote
amazingkevin Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Tight blades and go very slow ,let the blade do the work. Steve Curtis 1 Quote
