The fish in the very front (closest to the camera) is a twenty eight pound catfish I caught last year. When I caught him, I had to use the net to land him on the boat because he was fighting so much. After getting him on the boat, I unhooked him and put him in the live well like I usualy do and went back to fishing. Soon after, I heard a loud noise and turned around to see the fish had knocked the lid open on the live well and was flopping around trying to get out. So, I went back, stuffed him back into the live well, and turned a spare seat upside down on the lid, thinking the weight of the seat would hold him. Well, after going back to fishing, I heard a splash. At least I did learn that day that those floatable seats do float. He had knocked the seat in the water.

I decided to put him on a stringer and tie him to the side of the boat. Then I went back to fishing. The adventure was over, I thought.

Later, I started back to the boat dock, which was about two miles away. As soon as we got going good, that catfish had gotten over near where I sit at and was splashing water all in my face. It was getting late. I had gotten tired. So, I just started goosing the engine every time he got rowdy. The water hitting him in the face hard enough I guess calmed him down and we got home.

And that's my story of the most stubborn fish I think I've ever caught.
