qlty Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 The most fun when I belonged to a club up north was Ice Fishing. We would drill Holes (each person is allowed 5 for tip ups and 1 for jigging)then build a bonfire on shore, cook hot dogs, heat up some spiced wine or beer of choice and wait for the tip ups to spring up a flag indicating a fish had taken the bait .Then deciding whose tip up it was, go to hole and retrieve fish, end of day return to lodge and have a big fish fry if we were successful.I sure miss that club ,every fall brings back memories. greasemonkeyredneck Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 I'ved fished all over the south, but I've never been far enough north to try my hand at ice fishing. My stepdad is originally from Maine. He's told me stories of ice fishing. It sounds like a lot of fun. Did ya'll build little shacks on the ice like my dad used to do in Maine? Quote
