Has anyone seen this series on PBS? It's really a brilliant series. The first was called "Origins" and the second is called "Process", and there will be a third. All are hour long episodes showing various crafts...........ceramics/pottery, glass blowing, woodworking, jewelry making, etc... Some history, especially specific for the areas most noted for specific crafting.

It's an awesome series, eye candy, informational, and very inspirational. I am hooked! I will most likely be purchasing the books and DVD of the shows.

If you haven't seen it yet you can go to their site and watch video previews of the two shows and also, if interested, you can purchase the books and DVDs.

I encourage anyone interested in crafting to check it out. I just love stuff like this!

Hey Christina,

i wish here in Belgium there was something like craft in Belgium to, but for the real artists like us there isn't much.

A lot of craft stuff, but not much special. I also make miniature houses , but for that i need to go to somewhere else, i think there are two shops left

and they are very expensive, but i make everything myself.

Thanks anyway for sharing the site!

Thanks for the post Christina. I watched the first episode and it was pretty neat. I'll probably watch an episode a night all week to get caught up. I sure hope they have more. Thanks for the link Travis.

It's a pretty exciting series, and I think it is very inspiring too. I'm hoping there will end up being more than just three episodes eventually. I got sooo many wonderful ideas just watching it. Makes me want to do just everything lololol.

As for not much in the way of crafts in Belgium............how about wonderful chocolates and cheeses! And pottery. I'm sure there is much much more but it just hasn't been written about like in America. A bit of digging around might produce much more than you think Frieke. And if there isn't much.......maybe you should start some!

Thanks for posting the PBS link Travis. I didn't think to do that.........I just went to the Craft in America site duh! LOL.
