Jim Finn Posted November 15, 2015 Report Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) Running out of things to make now that the summer farmers marked is finished so I have been making eighty of these pick-ups. Not the trailers though. We, (our club). give thousands of various toys away every year to local children's hospitals and other charities. I make these and other toys when I have no other pressing projects. About to apply a finish on this cedar doll cradle also. I need to keep my self busy..... LarryEA Posted November 15, 2015 Report Posted November 15, 2015 Cute truck some kid will love. Is the cradle a give away also? A little girl will really cherish that. Quote
Jim Finn Posted November 15, 2015 Author Report Posted November 15, 2015 The cradle is almost a give away. I have $22 in materials in it and I am charging $35 for it. I am making it for an elderly lady to fit her childhood doll. I have a smaller one like this setting in my living room with my wife's childhood doll in it. I have made about ten of these over the past seven years and was selling them for $30. They were a bit smaller than this one is. Fun to make but I do not like transporting them back and forth to sales so I stopped making them. This is the same reason I no longer make a lot of items, including, intarsia ,bellows, vases, wooden flowers, wall shelves, doll chairs etc. I am glad to make them to order but I take items to the sales that I pretty much know will sell, like boxes, some toys and stars.
