jerry1939 Posted December 10, 2015 Report Posted December 10, 2015 Hi All,. I am having fun/frustration learning Inscape. Re: Lines equal distance from each other. For example - Drawing a (candy cane)(Victorian sleigh)(French curve). I can do parallel straight lines by starting at a top or side ruler. On a candy cane example, can make 2 half circles and attach them to the straight lines, but am currently guessing at the line spacing for the curves. Is there a better way? Please and Thank You, jerry Quote
Travis Posted December 10, 2015 Report Posted December 10, 2015 I'd make a straight line, then add a node part way down (about a 3rd down). Pull the top node to the left of the middle node so you have an upside down L shape. Select the horizontal line between the two nodes and push up to make a curve. Then bend it into a candy cane shape. Thicken up the stroke to something really wide. Then go to Path>Stroke To Path to make it into a shape. From there, you have your basic candy cane shape that you can tweak. Let me know if that doesn't make sense. Perhaps I can put together a video this weekend demonstrating it. woodworker13403A and bobscroll 2 Quote
