Montserrat Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 My son-in-law saw a wooden drinking cup at a renaissance fair that he loved. It had the emblem from the computer game "Legend of Zelda" on it and the guy wanted 85 dollars. As a GI with a family that was a little out of his affordability range. Could anybody point me to someone who is able and willing to make one for less? Or is such a price the absolute minimum? Quote
Lucky2 Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 Monti, I'm sorry I can't help you out, turning this is a little beyond my abilities. The price of $85.00 could be a fair price, it would all depend on the turners cost for materials. Plus, you have to take his time into consideration. A lot of people don't take material cost into consideration for turning items, they figure it's wood so it shouldn't cost that much. To possibly find someone who might make one for you, you should check out the turners forum on Sawmill Creek or on the Woods site. There are lots of qualified turners on those two sites, good luck. Montserrat Posted June 3, 2016 Author Report Posted June 3, 2016 Thank you, Len. I appreciate the answer! Quote
Lucky2 Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 I suppose I could have left the address to the two places I mentioned, the first one is sawmillcreek.org, the other one is woodmagazine.com. Both sites have very active woodturning forums, if your ever going to find someone to make one for you it would be there. Len Quote
