worbler Posted May 9, 2017 Report Posted May 9, 2017 I don't know how many of you use Paint.Net and of those that do I don't know how many of you know about the Plugin Pack that can be got for it. I only found out about it tonight, the plugins that is, and it makes the program do so much more. It can be found here: http://paint.net.amihotornot.com.au/Download/PluginsPack/ I only came across it when I googled how to put text on a path in Paint.Net. The plugin make it so much easier. Check it out. Fab4 and crupiea 2 Quote

Birchbark Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 wow it takes over four gigs of ram to run that plug in. that seems like a bunch, not handy to load all 800 effects at once i suppose. Russell Quote
Scrappile Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 Another minor technicality, not for a MAC. Quote
free2breath Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 Thank you, I'm using Paint.Net too to make my scrollsaw pattern. Will check this out. Spoiler Quote
worbler Posted May 11, 2017 Author Report Posted May 11, 2017 Yep, it's free. And yep, it's power hungry. Probably shouldn't be used on a 32 bit machine. As far as I can tell you get the whole package as one. Quote
angeleyes3853 Posted May 11, 2017 Report Posted May 11, 2017 my laptop is 64 bit 8 or 12 ram or memory and 1tb hard drive will it work with that Quote
worbler Posted May 11, 2017 Author Report Posted May 11, 2017 Yep, sounds good. A 64 bit machine with 8GB should be fine. 32 Bit machines with only 4GB, of which only 3 will be used, might not be a good idea. When installed it will change everything in the Effects tab but there is some really good stuff in there. I need to look right into it to see what is there. Quote
angeleyes3853 Posted May 11, 2017 Report Posted May 11, 2017 does it work well with making patterns how about portrait patterns do you like import a picture and edit it Quote
worbler Posted May 11, 2017 Author Report Posted May 11, 2017 This is basically the only program I use at the moment. I does everything I need, and now some more. I have photoshop also but rarely use it. Also Gimp and InkScape. Paint.Net can do anything the others do and it's totally free. You don't have to use the Plugin package and it will still do portraits as good as any other software. Quote
crupiea Posted July 16, 2017 Report Posted July 16, 2017 I use paint.net but did not know if the plug in. thanks for posting. Quote
