Ok as some of you may know I have not been at this scrolling lark long but since I started I am amazed at how the pattern makers do the patterns so I have been studying studying and studying because I do like to try everything I come across I thought I would take a go at a pattern, so I went onto the tutorial by Travis (Admin) watched watched and watched again then I also went onto TDPainters (Travis) posts on youtube and also watched those too. So here it is my first attempt at a pattern from a photo. Please be critical point things out etc I am wanting to learn and without tips criticism etc you cannot learn. Thanks for any comments and all comments welcome GULP!

WOW, great job on your first pattern. Looks really good to me. the only thing I think I would change would be to round out the shape of the legs so they look more realistic and also shape the tail a bit more to look like hair  unless this was the look you would like, and some patterns do you better without all the detail. and the quality of the picture you are working from makes a big difference in what detail you see as will. But I must say you are on the right track and once again for the first try, Its a great job done. Keep it up :)  also glad I could help you out as will with my videos .

have a great day

I've stared at it for a while now and I don't see any floaters, well except for the ones that float around in my eyeballs, but they are always there.  I agree with TDpainter on the legs.  They look a little thin or something to me.  But, if I could even get as far as you have I would be very happy.

Frank, for a first pattern, it far better then I'd ever be able to do. I looked it over and I only found one floater, it's in the number six, the middle will fall out. I agree also that the legs and tail could use a bit of touching up, but other then that I think you did a great job.

Thanks for the comments fellas I too was not happy with the tail or rear legs I tried and tried on the rear legs but just could not get them exact and the tail I whisped like hair but it looked strange so went for the easy option of bulk tail hair but  to have the 2 things mentioned that I was not happy with anyway is a great result for me on my first pattern I shall take these comments and use them as i go forward and practice on more and more pictures the photo was a far away shot that I was working with I am no artist and find drawing a straight line or adding bits in a challenge I am more used to using my hands for building not tiny drawing tiny lines etc so it is all new to me  lol but I will keep at it and see how I go Thanks again for all the comments that was the reason I posted it to see what I needed to work on . :)

Hi Frank

You have done better than most on your first attempt (myself included)

Having a teacher by the name of TRAVIS doesn't hurt either

Both are great designers

Can't really add anything more than what's been said

Looking forward to your next pattern

Keep up the great work
