Am paying $200 for saw, lite, tool storage cabinet on casters. Do you have any idea how this saw compares to the Delta 40-640 type2

I don't have any personal experience with that saw. I can only attest to the durability and popularity of the Dewalt. I wouldn't worry for a second about it. If that model you mentioned is the clone of the Dewalt 788, I have heard both good and bad on it. The bad only being how it was received and the poor shipping condition. As for the saw itself, it should be no different than the Dewalt if it is built as well. I just don't like how Delta has a habit of discontinuing parts as well as the tool itself.

The Delta 40-640 type2 is one of Deltas lower end saws.. and was in the price range of $200 - 275 when they was new... The Hawk 220 shown in the craigslist link is a high end saw.. and was priced new at $1200.. Many of the Delta 40-640 type2 parts ave been discontinued for probably 5 years at least.. The Hawk parts are still available and Hawk is still in business making the saws.. though slightly redesigned.. but many of the parts still interchange even with the very first Hawks produced.. Hawks made in the USA.. Delta... well.. I'm done comparing because really not a lot of comparing.. since we are talking entry level saw and commercial high end saw.. it's like comparing apples to oranges.. LOL
