Popular Post munzieb Posted March 6, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted March 6, 2019 I have made several octagon boxes in the past but I really wanted to make one with a dome (Brunneleschi)?? I used 1/2" poplar since it was going to be painted. Lot of different angle cuts and it took more time to figure out how to sequence the cuts then actually assembling the box. If some one is interested in making one, send me an email and I'll offer the details on making it. My wife did the wonderful painting again. meflick, jollyred, spotsdad and 9 others 10 2 Quote
JTTHECLOCKMAN Posted March 6, 2019 Report Posted March 6, 2019 Compound miters. Not easy but there are charts for it. Nice work as usual. I sure wish I could paint. munzieb 1 Quote
oldhudson Posted March 6, 2019 Report Posted March 6, 2019 You must have way more math skills than I have. Great work (by both of you.) munzieb 1 Quote
munzieb Posted March 6, 2019 Author Report Posted March 6, 2019 Thanks Berry, There are only 2 angles, 45 and 22.5 degrees. Its about about figuring out how to make the cuts and keep all your finger. I use the table saw and miter saw and the scroll saw for the inside retainer lip. Quote
meflick Posted March 6, 2019 Report Posted March 6, 2019 I always love to see the boxes you have crafted and your wife has painted. You make a great pair. Her painting work is always stunning. munzieb 1 Quote

Her "One Stroke" painting technique is amazing! Quote
