kmmcrafts Posted February 11, 2020 Report Posted February 11, 2020 Hegner for $150 with quick clamps and old style clamps.. Stands run about $100.. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/160751628711003/ OCtoolguy 1 Quote
OCtoolguy Posted February 11, 2020 Report Posted February 11, 2020 That's a real old saw. No variable speed, no quick release lever.....but worth that money if it works well. If all you want is a small Hegner and speed makes no diff. They are bullet-proof. amazingkevin and kmmcrafts 1 1 Quote
JTTHECLOCKMAN Posted February 11, 2020 Report Posted February 11, 2020 I was going to mention it but I see it in their write up. The bellows on Hegners are their weak point and will crack over time. They dry rot. kmmcrafts, OCtoolguy and amazingkevin 1 2 Quote
amazingkevin Posted February 11, 2020 Report Posted February 11, 2020 My Dewalt bellows cracked, year old machine,Runs like new after a car grease implant to all the bearings I could get to. kmmcrafts and OCtoolguy 1 1 Quote

Buy a CV shaft boot for a car.. same size and works well.. about $8.. made of better material too.. Here is an example.. more than the $8 I listed but shop around.. you can find deals on them.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Inner-CV-Axle-Boot-Kit-Front-Left-Right-For-2003-2004-2005-2006-2018-Ford-F-150/312729896037?hash=item48d0278465:g:MXIAAOSwxINdUXne EDIT To Add - Not all boots are the same size so one you buy might have to do some tinkering to cut it and make it work.. But these would last a lot longer than the colored ones you get from Hegner.. When you add colors to rubbers and plastics.. you change the overall durability of them.. These are made to hold grease in your CV shaft bearing.. So it's going to last a long time.. A lot of 10 -15 year old cars running the factory boot still.. JTTHECLOCKMAN Posted February 11, 2020 Report Posted February 11, 2020 I am sure there are many work arounds. Probably could just as well use a toilet plunger too. https://www.acehardware.com/toilet-plungers/49800?x429=true&msclkid=db830c0cb8a312e65633524e4bbec06e&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping - Catch All&utm_term=4581664954588628&utm_content=Catch All&gclid=CP6x8aCRyucCFQPqswodJBcCSA&gclsrc=ds Hegner always had that problem. You do not see it on other saws such as RBI. Hegners uses plastic and other use rubber. At least the one on my Hegner is plastic. OCtoolguy and kmmcrafts 1 1 Quote

I had that thought a couple of years back but never proceeded with it and now the saw is gone. kmmcrafts 1 Quote
