Kevin, as far as I can see it is a place to sell things, however, for dinosaurs like me and thee it's technology that goes way over our heads. amazingkevin 1 Quote
Badgerboy Posted August 29, 2020 Report Posted August 29, 2020 I use Shopify for my own website. I will admit it does take bit of time to get the site put together and computer skills are helpful. I found it reasonably easy to put together a simple website on my own domain name. Overall my experience was more positive acknowledging that you do need to spend time and have a plan. new2woodwrk and amazingkevin 2 Quote
kmmcrafts Posted August 30, 2020 Report Posted August 30, 2020 You didn't mention whether you're talking regular shopify or shopify light.. Shopify light is basically a checkout processing or shopping cart where you can send people to purchase items from a Facebook or other social site to cash out. Shopify is a site host for a personal website and you'll pretty much be responsible to bring in your own traffic.. Nothing wrong with that other than it takes time to build a following where you start getting regular sales.. If you're going the personal website path.. Indiemade.com is much cheaper per month.. I used to have my website through them.. but back then they had a 300 listing limit.. and I out grew them.. I know see they will give you more listings upon request.. But on Indiemade.. you can start out cheap if you only have a small amount of listings etc.. and as you grow you can upgrade to the next higher plan.. If i remember correctly the cheapest plan was only like $5 a month.. for like 30 items and then its like $10 for the next level.. I dont remember how many items and what price.. I know the most expensive one was $19.95 a month for 300 item listings.. Roberta Moreton, amazingkevin and new2woodwrk 3 Quote
