blame Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 the above pic is of staghorn sumac i've turned some fresh to dry it for a pen but lost the pcs before i could finish it i'd love to find some more the generic picture doesnt do the bush justice. what i had was much brighter green and had more dark brown streaks to it the bark is very hard but the wood it self is kinda soft very porous. once i got thru the bark the piece was a dream to cut Quote
greasemonkeyredneck Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I've never worked with any of this, but I'd love to because of the distinguished wood grain. I absolutely love wood grain that stands out that much. I just get lost in the grain of wood at times. I love to see it. I love to feel it. I'm weird though. My wife says I love like I'm about to orgasm (I hope I don't get in trouble for that word) just from rubbing saw dust between my fingers. I'm sorry, back on track. That is some beautiful wood. Quote
blame Posted April 9, 2009 Author Report Posted April 9, 2009 lol my wife use to tease me about my wood pron when i'd spend hours looking at exotic woods lol Quote
