Dragonkort Posted September 14, 2020 Report Posted September 14, 2020 I havnt been on much lately but I have been busy...I got a stacked cut picture frame done and im trying to decide what I want to do with large round piece...I used the fake flooring for these....I have a fret basket stacked and ready to cut out from the flooring as well...I spent the weekend getting a lot of different crafts projects ready to start....I have several barbe cloths cut out and ready to sew as well as a few other sewing projects and im finishing the plarn mat...just crocheting around the edges now and that will be done then I got out several of my scroll saw books out and started tracing patterns that I want to cut out...spike took the top off the wood bin for me and I found a nice sized thick peace of wood that im going to use to make a box of some kind ( one of the books is on making boxes lol ) and I have more patterns to look at for more patterns of course...most of the wood iv got are small to med sized so wont be making anything to big for a while. and im goingn to try to cut out the dragon sign and then do the few inside cuts it has and hopefuly i'll be able maneuver it around so I can cut it on the scroll saw and if that dosnt work i'll get out the jig saw and see what I can do with that. and like I said I have a few other scroll books to go through im thinking i'll try to find a nice fret peace or two and cut them out and then see what it will look like with the flooring as the backer board... I had planned to do some sewing this morning while drinking my coffee and watching tv and then go in the wood shop this afternoon and do some cutting and maybe trace a few more patterns to put on wood and then this evening do some crocheting but my son called this morning. he was having trouble trying to get my grandson to log on to his computer and attend his on line schooling. He wasn't sure what was going on with the boy because connor wouldn't or maybe couldn't or didn't know how to expline what was going on to his father...all he would say was that he was stressed....I tried to talk to him on the phone but couldn't quite understand what was going on so spike and got around to drive to holt for a grandma grandson talk. connor was made to sit on the couch until I got there....because a child can not just decide hes NOT going to do his school work....after we got there I tried talking to connor to see what was going on but he got up and tried to run to his room....my son and I were no longer fooling around and dad got him and set him back in his chair and grandma grabed hold of his wrist so he couldn't just try to run away again and sent dad out of the room....then connor and grandma started to have a talk...I think most of his prolem was that he just didn't know how to tell his dad what was going and stressed was the only word he could think of to use....after explaining to connor that just saying im stressed dosnt really help grandma figure out how to help him so I TOLD him firmly that we were going to log into his classroom and start doing his school work and maybe that way we could figure out what and way he felt so stressed.... I have a t shirt that says if moma ant happy ant nobody happen if grandma ant happy run!! lol connor knows when I speak in that tone of voice shes not playing and HE IS GOING TO DO what grandma told him to do.... it didn't take very long to figure out what the problems were.... Hes having trouble maneuvering around the on line class subjects and figuring out how to get to his lessons and hand in his work...he was also worried because his teacher had told the class on the first day of school that this was a whole new way teaching school and that they would all be learning this kind of school together... he was also having trouble with finding the work he was suppose to do and finding his homework to...he couldn't really find the words to tell me what his problems were but going in to the vertical classroom together he could SHOW me his problems and we were able to talk about them and write down some of the problems he was having so dad could talk to his teacher about the problems hes having and see if they could figure out a way help him get around them and give him some kind of practice with everything so he can concentrate on his school work.... my son was being very paticent with connor but just couldn't get him to tell or show him what was going on. im so glad I could help them get to the bottom of this problem like I told john and connor grandmas had a lot of exsearince in this kind of thing as my son is ADHD as wel as dyslicx and we have recently learned hes autist. so getting my son to do his school work at home let alone at school was a bit stressing for grandma!! lol so iv had a lot of practice at trying to understand why a child is having trouble as well as finding ways to help them get around and through the problems...when we left this afternoon connor promised to got back to his vertical classes and try to tell or show dad if he has any more problems so dad can write it down so he can talk to his teacher after school and they can all work together to help slove the problems Connors having.... I also told connor he can always call grandma with his problems if he dosnt feel comfortable talkig to mom and dad about. both Connors parents are very good at working on computers as they grew up with them and johns father was a computer programmer and john was beginning to wright his own programs by the time he 8 or 9. .which caused his father and I no end of trouble after the schools set there English teachers to school to learn how to use a computer just the basics...like turning the computer on....john my son was so far ahead of everyone in the class including his teacher it was a nightmair for us, the princable ad his computer teacher!! he would do things like program the main frame computer his teacher was using so all it would show was some kind of graphics or make it appear as if they were all off line so to speak and we would constently get calls from the school because the darn boy would sabotage the tearches lessons plans. lol he also refused to make flow charts as he hadn't had to make flow charts for over like 2 years.... that class like I said was a nightmair for everyone!!! so I think connor was also a little ashamed to admit to his father that he just wasn't catching on to how manewver around the stuff on the computer....well this is long AGAIN but just figured id expline why I haven't been on much lately in case any one was woundering lol and now im off to go get something to eat! bobscroll 1 Quote
