  Hi all,thank you for taking the time to read this.

my grandad passed away and I want to to make a portrait of him as a gift to family members this year for Christmas just thought it would be a nice way to remember him by and keep his memory alive,any help would be appreciated,thank you in advance I know the effort that gets put in to making the patterns I can't thank you all enough.

Hi, Dan,
I tried working on this photo and the shadows on the eyes
just leave two black holes there and I am not artistic enough to
draw in realistic eyes from the photo.

If you have another photo, I will gladly try again. Until then,
maybe some of the other pattern makers will have better luck than I have.

Hi spirithorse,

thank you very much for trying I really appreciate it,I wondered if the shadows might be an issue,I will see if anyone has any other photos but this is the one my grandma and my mum really like of him so was hoping to use this one,thank you again for trying I really appreciate you taking the time to work on it.

It indeed a great picture of him but while making a pattern the shadow area is left to the imagination as it turns dark and while making a portrait pattern the picture has to be clear in order to get the details.

Thank you for trying again I really appreciate it,those shadows are horrible,I tried to photoshop but to no avail just too dark around the eyes ,thanks again ,dan .I am trying to get another photo but I will be cutting it fine intime for completing before xmas
