Can someone help me please?

I need to make a wedding cake topper for my niece who is also my goddaughter.   She and her husband to be are avid golfers and she sent me an image she would like to have with their name, "Mr & Mrs Cohen",  added underneath.   I have been working for days to try and create this in inkscape with no luck.   I am attaching two files, one is the image she found in Pintrest and sent to me and the second one is my attempt at making a pattern....obviously I need help to create a pattern!

If possible please do this in inkscape .  The golf bag needs to be touching the groom's pant leg to assure stability.  The completed pattern can be a red outline.  The width should not be more than 6 inches.  I am requesting a somewhat formal font for the name and it must be attached onthe bottom also, to facilitate a method of inserting the topper in the first layer of the cake.

Thank you so much for any help.

Wayne, I cannot thank you enough, the pattern you made has turned out beautiful, you are a very talented designer.

If this was done in inkscape, I have 2 questions for you

* Can the golf bag be moved so the head of the club can be attached to the grooms pants, allowing for support when the caterer puts the topper in the cake ?

* Can the image be out lined in RED and have a white fill...these old eyes are still recovering from cataract surgery and that would be a big help.

Please, Wayne, do not take these questions as any reflection on your work, which is impeccable.  After all the work you put into this, I am almost embarrassed to ask these questions.  I did attempt to make the outline RED by bringing the image into inkscape, but I was not able to pull it off.

Again, I thank you so much and I admire your talent.  God Bless you and I hope the remainder of Lent leads you to a blessed HOLY WEEK and EASTER.

Thank you Wayne.  I e-mailed a copy of the topper to the bride to be and she was thrilled with your design and asked me to send along her gratitude.

I hope that some day, somehow, I can be of some assistance to you...but we both know it won't be concerning designing a pattern  😉.

Wishing you and your family a Blessed spring Holiday.

Hey Rick,

You're doing a great thing for your niece sounds like such a personal and meaningful touch to their big day. I’ve worked with Inscape for a few DIY wedding projects myself, so I know how tricky it can be to get all the alignment and stability right, especially when it comes to structural details like the golf bag connection and making sure the name flows cleanly with the design.

One tip I’ve found helpful is to use the "Union" function under the Path menu in Inscape to merge all the elements together once you're happy with the placement, it prevents breakage in thin areas when it's cut. Also, you might want to convert any formal font you choose into a path early on (Path > Object to Path), so you can tweak individual nodes if necessary and avoid any font compatibility issues down the line.

If you ever decide to explore other topper options or want to see how others have integrated themes like golf or custom silhouettes, this website has some pretty creative inspiration. They’ve got a mix of playful and elegant designs that could give you new ideas or even serve as a backup if time runs short.

Good luck finalizing the design, can’t wait to see how it turns out! Feel free to share your updated version if you'd like another pair of eyes on it.
