That's a nice looking saw but I'd have to throw an offer of about $350 though. I don't see $500 there.

Yeah looking closer at it.. it's a old saw.. my 220VS I sold was serial number 23**** and was a 1993.. This one is only 20**** so I'm guessing a 91-93 saw maybe.. It's had some very good care and also been updated with flex air hose and appears to have the updated upper tension cam and front nose was updated with the new style clamp. Has the rear caster wheel option and front handle for moving it around easy. Has the storage tray in the stand. The upper arm at the back where the wedge is looks to me to not be worn at all so someone has hardly used it OR kept it oiled very good as most these older saws if you look at the groove where that wedge sits in.. it'll be worn half way through the upper arm. Hawk will drill that spot out and put a round "metal" insert in there so it can be replaced instead of wearing into the arm.. The issue is.. it can't be worn into the arm too much otherwise there's not enough meat to the arm to do it.. So with that all said.. to the right person that knows these saws and these add-ons.. provided they want these add-ons I can honestly see this price point.. probably being on the high end of what it's valued at. But this saw would last someone a very long time.. at way less than price of a new one.

The thing with these Hawks is.. in most peoples eyes they all look the same.. they have no paint on the table to judge use, and the paint holds up forever, even a well worn saw can "look" new.. and they all basically look the same unless you know these saws inside out..

that saw is like new, but it has the fasco brand a/c motor that bushton will not repair anymore. just because of the expense, about $350 to change the motor and controller out i would pass and find something newer.

A lot of folks say that but most of the issues I've seen with these motors is the variable speed not working.. though I have heard of it burning up the motor? Anyway these older saws don't run as fast as the new ones do.. and the one I had I ran full speed 99+ % of the time so if the issue starts messing with the speed surging before it burns up the motor just wire it direct.. The motors aren't the issue it's the speed controller.. at least that has always been my understanding.. I do understand how a lot of folks aren't real mechanical etc. though and would pass on something older like this..

When I posted this I knew nothing about the saw... still don't. It's out of my reach as far as distance and, right now, cost. I just thought I'd post it because the saw LOOKED new and figured someone in the Village would know more about it than myself. It has taught me that just because it looks new doesn't mean that is so.

I see it has a sale pending.. someone is getting a great saw.. and most likely made a offer and got it for less than the asking price. I didn't see it as a steal.. but I did see it as a very nice saw with many upgrades.. and someone had invested some money into it with those upgrades so it most likely was a great saw.... Many folks getting ( or trying to get ) that kind of money for these without the upgrades and on a saw that is well used.. this one was certainly much better deal than on those others.. as I said previously.. the upper arm at the back where the wedge is on most these old saws is worn half way through.. this one either not used much OR had upgraded to a new arm.. which is not cheap.. most likely just not used much..
