kmmcrafts Posted January 3, 2024 Report Posted January 3, 2024 Might be a good buy for someone close enough.. I don't know if it's variable speed or not. They claim they don't know the brand so they either have no tag on it or they just aren't that observant to see it.. Probably too much junk piled on it covering up the tag, LOL. This is a old saw with the round barrel style blade chucks and likely the motor that some had issues with.. If you're close though $50 isn't bad so long as it runs and runs through the variable speeds without jumping speed around.. Good starter or back-up saw for sure if runs okay. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1417577638824912/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Aaa9e2e4a-ad71-4542-b11d-05441b56b338 OCtoolguy 1 Quote
OCtoolguy Posted January 3, 2024 Report Posted January 3, 2024 Just for kicks, I wrote and asked for more pics and info. Let's see what happens. We know it's a 220 and probably has the Fasco motor from that pic. kmmcrafts 1 Quote
homebru Posted January 4, 2024 Report Posted January 4, 2024 Since you brought it up, Ray, please do tell us newbies about the "Fasco motor". Is that a Jeopardy clue for "What scroll saw motor was a total fiasco?" homebru aka nathan in kalamazoo kmmcrafts, Liz Weir and OCtoolguy 1 2 Quote

JTTHECLOCKMAN Posted January 6, 2024 Report Posted January 6, 2024 (edited) From the photo it looks like a RBI Hawk but I never seen a motor like that hanging down. If that is part of the saw. Also what is the bracket or cover that is laying on the bed. I see the foot switch. There should be badges on there. It does not look that old. Didn't Kevin not long ago show us different clone RBI saws?? If my memory serves me well. Edited January 6, 2024 by JTTHECLOCKMAN Quote

I believe some of the parts piled onto the saw might belong to whatever it is that they have in pieces right in front of the saw and on the ground around the saw. Looks like they used the saw as a bench, LOL.. It is a RBI and that is the factory bigger motor that they used back in the early made saws.. My first saw ( 1993 220vs ) had that type motor on it.. which is the motor style I believe that had all the issues with.. Mine worked great though.. this takes the round barrel style clamps that many hated.. I never had much issue with them once I really learned how to use them properly.. saw worked and cut just as good as my other two Hawks.. Yeah, there should be a tag on it somewhere.. typically on front of saw for these but some of the older ones they put the tag on top of the deck too.. I'm pretty sure this is a RBI Hawk and not the knockoff ones.. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
