I had a young goldfinch fly into the french windows today and knocked itself silly, so I picked it up and held it till it was able to stand on it's own. I then let it sit on my finger for about ten minutes in the workshop (with the big doors open) and it still didb't want to go, so I took it's picture then stood outside with it - it was another 15 mins before it looked at me, gave a little cheep and flew off. I know I'm a silly sod but I do like the garden birds.

Good on you Keith, I did a similar thing with a starling, I saw it flapping about in the canal

with a ginger cat hoping it could grab it out of the water, I ran as fast as I could to reach

the other side of the canal, When I looked at it in the water it was lifeless, I took in the

house in front of the fire and two and a half hour's later it came back to life!

I let it out of the front door and off it went, Didn't even say goodbye!

"Happy ending" that's what it's all about, Bob ;)

You are no softie you are a good person and I'm sure the bird appreciated the time you took to look after him.  It looks as if he is looking at you over his shoulder.  CUTE
