LarryEA Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 This extended cold weather has taken its tole. We lost one peacock, he was about 12 years old and he died in the cold. I was concerned enough that the other two would meet the same fate that I bought two 10 x 14 inch pet heating pads. Put the pads where they have been bedding and covered them with hay. The peacocks have beeen sleeping on or near them, praise God. I only see tham get up to eat or drink. Hopefully we will get a break soon. Well, thats my story Larry Quote
browders Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 This is a crazy winter, especially up in your neck of the woods. I hope they can hold out until Spring. Best of luck. Jim Quote

keefie Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 You should have bought three heating pads - and kept yourself warm too. Glad your birds are ok. Quote
Ron Johnson Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Good morning Larry That's unfortunate. It would be like losing a friend. Hopefully the other two will be okay. Quote

Phantom Scroller Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Bad luck Larry I had three peacocks that use to roam around my garden until my neighbour shot them. because they ate his crops. They were released by someone who no longer wanted them so I rang the RSPSC to come and get them but they said they are exotic birds and we don't have anything to do with them, so much for the protection of birds and then they were shot. My wife and myself were gutted and don't talk to the old git next door now. Well, that's my story Roly Quote
