RipCat Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Recently read about this, and thought it would be good for shaping intarsia pieces, since it conforms to shape. Has anybody got or used one of these? Looks good, but expensive, so debating whether to buy (more importantly how to justify it to my wife, lol) Quote
Travis Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I don't own one myself, but a lot of intarsia artist like the inflatable drum sanders (whether it's Guinevere or not). Steve Good did a nice video review on the product you might find interesting. You can find it here. Quote
RipCat Posted July 7, 2009 Author Report Posted July 7, 2009 Thanks Travis, I'll check out the link you suggested, cheers S Quote
RipCat Posted July 20, 2009 Author Report Posted July 20, 2009 well, bit the bullet and bought one... and have to say it's fantastic! Does everything they say, and soooo nice to use. Shaping pieces has become so much easier! Spent the weekend playing with it, and made my current project much more pleasant to work on. I've tried a few different sanding methods, and this seems the best by far. It doesn't replace everything, still have use for larger drum sanders and the belt and disk sander, but it certainly makes obsolete my other stuff. Much easier to use and better for smooth sanding than the Dremmel, although that still has its place. Quote
amazingkevin Posted April 23, 2013 Report Posted April 23, 2013 must be nice to have nice tools like that! Quote
