  2. Glad you got it sorted out Paul...you might keep in mind that Scotchbrite is sometimes good for rubbing wood down....(I got this tip from a guy who has been finishing wood for 40 years) just be sure to try said abrasive on a small piece of scrap first..I picked up some Scotchbrite from hell a while back..it has scilicon carbide in it....great for cleaning metal up but wood...NOOOO!!...the less agressive pads are good for rubbing clear coat down before final finish... I'm new to this as well and had been having trouble getting a good finish on my first project..will post a pic once I figure out how to get it on here..lol Doug
  3. Good job NiTay...glad you stuck with it, and thanks for sharing...we have all had those moments when we wonder if we should keep at it...the important thing is to keep going and finish it up, and learn from our efforts..again nicely done.. Doug
  4. Hi, check out Steve Good on You Tube for stack cutting...I go on You Tube and type in Scroll Saw and you can usually get to see a lot of Steve's work there.. he explains things better than I could describe them...good luck with your new found hobby...

Doug
  7. Hi Guys, I have an Amt scroll saw and the blade clamps drive me crazy....fiddling with allen wrenches and blades popping out etc.. just wondering if anyone uses the Pozsgai clamps...or any other sugestions greatly apppreciated...the saw runs great...but changing the blade...aagghhhhh! I love these forums and any advice greatly appreciated. Doug
  8. I would buy the Hegner..IF... you can see it working...the blade changing might be an issue though...some of the older ones need tools to change the blade...the Dewalt has quick change clamps...I use a Dewalt at work but would prefer a Hegner...not being much help here am I? but what I have read... Hegners rule....Doug
  9. Hi Guys, I started scrolling back in the 70's with a Dremel..How did we ever get anything done back then with those tools?..I cut 1/16"stainless steel with the pin top blades that came with the saw.. I was surprised how well they cut..I kept them lubed up with tallow... I recently bought a AMT 14"from a garage sale ... have not used it yet as a part was broken..It looks a lot like.. a dare I say it a "Hegner"...lol ...Glad I found you guys keep up he good work...Doug
