  3. I figured it out....sorta. I think that when I did close it it locked because I opened another project and it worked woohoo. I tried to delete the orig. post but was unable to. Thanks again, David
  4. I made my first pattern tonight, and I am way excited about it....I felt it came out pretty good and the wife gave two thumbs up which is golden for me LOL. But when I was done I took the laptop into the kitchen and must have depressed a key locking the paint bucket in gimp, I cant unlock it how did I do it and how do I unlock it? Thank You David

  6. I may be missing something here Im hoping you can get me squared away as I would love to create my own patterns. Here is my Delima: I have Gimp 2.8 (just downloaded today) now when Im in L-4 you say go to File, open, name. Im good so far then you ask me to go to image then canvas size. Next you say go to File new template etc etc.... my problem is that I haven't done anything to or with the canvas size window and its just sitting there glaring at me like im some kind of idiot LOL. What was I supposed to do with the canvas size window? I know its probably a dumb question but it has me stumped as I am a go step by step kinda guy. Thanks, David
  7. Got it figured out Thank You again
  8. WOW, THESE ARE AWESOME, I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH, one question tho.....how do I print them out I tried right click it didn't work, I clicked on the image and it brings it up but then I hit control p and it wants to do the entire page in front of you. Thank You guys again so much they are truly incredible. David

  10. Hello oh wonderful and wise pattern designers. I have been asked by my wifes cousin if I could turn this pic into a portrait, well I can turn it into portrait but I sure could use some help in the pattern department. Please oh Please I would truly appreciate it . Thank You. David
  11. thank you Don and Roly, those are perfect, I will show my friend and let her decide. Awesome patterns guys I appreciate our help.
  12. This is for a lady at work, I told her what I do portraits wise and she was in total amazement and wanted to know if I could do one of her kids.....how could I say no LOL, I tried to do the pattern but alas my skills are not where I would like them. Can you kind folks help me out here? Thank You so much.
  13. This is a cutting of praying hands that my father in law made when we he was in High School. The picture was reworked so it could be cut on a scrollsaw. I lost my father in law the year we got married 1991, so each time I cut the hands it is memory of him. This set was cut for my Sister in Law, who I know will hang it with pride. I hope you enjoy it. Lots of cutting since I have been on vacation LOL
  14. My daughter in laws birthday is just around the corner, and since she is a HUGE Alice in Wonderland fan....I jumped at the chance to make some patterns (I admit, I did have some help with the red queen, she truly was a witch LOL, from my good buddy out in Canada who did an awesome job on the pattern) I hope you like them as much as she did. David
  15. Many Thanks to Bob for all his help and this project. My friend was extremely happy. Hope you all like it.
