  1. I have been working on Christmas ornaments. I have 40 of them finished and I am getting close to my goal of 50, should finish soon. After that I have planned a few wildlife wall plaques.
  2. Thanks Kevin, That will help a lot.
  3. Thank you all for your help. I ordered some bb/plywood and when it gets here I will give it a try.
  4. Are there instructions in the owners manual on how to adjust the tension rod???? I must set my dewalt to #5 or #51/2 to get proper tension. And that may explain some problems I had with scrolling a piece of Maple.
  5. It looks like Alder.
  6. I know you will enjoy your new Dewalt 788. I got one for Christmas and I find it to be a great tool. Best of luck. Hartwood

    Plan B

Today will be a day to switch to "Plan B" as it is just to cold to work in the ole woodshop (shed). At 6 AM it was -5 degrees and three hours later it warmed up to a balmy -4 degrees; with any luck we may reach 0 degrees before the day is done. Even with my kerosene heater set on high it would take several hours to heat the ole woodshop up to 40 degrees and that would make scroll sawing uncomfortable. Along with the cold weather that moved in we also recevied about 10 inches of snow. So it is on to plan B - shovel deck and walkways, plow the driveway and hunker down in the house the rest of the day. I have several wood carving projects that need my attention. Some need paint and others are waiting for final touch-up carving. I also need to order some hardwood and Birch plywood for future scroll saw projects. Life in the high country of Colorado is great, as long as you have a Plan B and may be a Plan C. Hope everyone is doing well. Hartwood
  8. Looks great.
  9. HI everyone, I started my new hobby right after Christmas, did I mention I got a new scroll saw, and have been busy learning about the saw. I have managed to create several nice ornaments using 1/4 inch Alder and Oak. I began cutting them out one at a time and then read somewhere about the stack method. That process proved to work a lot better than one at a time. I looking forward to scrolling other items and I was wondering if any of you have used Birch Plywood and for what kind of projects? Thanks Hartwood
