wow.. guess I got lucky..I bought my scroll saw (Craftsman) at a pawn shop about a year ago. Didnt know that other types were so hard to use.. But I too have gotten quite quick at removing and inserting the blade, I put my blades in from the top keeping it attatched to the top arm then draw it down to attatch to the lower reciever. ? not sure if other machines have a tension screw like mine but I like it and have got real use to it. some times Im too quick and forget to tighten it all the way down(cought up in my work) lol

not sure if you will read this, i am new on the sight. was reading messages to learn stuff when i cam accross yours. Just a sugestion but have you thought of using metal patch stuff like I used on my gas tank? As far as I know it can be used really small areas and gets real hard. and smooth it you use water on your hand when you apply it....?

I am using OLSON blades i got at a local wood and parts dealer. My question is with my Craftsman scroll saw, how do I get the blades into those really small lines on my work... The blades have those pegs that hold them in place and I drill holes in wood to do work. But some times the lines are smaller that the drill bit or peg spots will fit in. ????

I too am new. on my latest project I found a pitcher of a demon riding a motercycle and decided to make a pattern out of it....I got about 3 hours into it, did fine work around face, tire and some details on bike. I just started working on area of the moter and a big piece brakes off...I was ped of...I dont know what to do with it..couldnt find piece..just threw it in later project box....( it has a lot of stuff) I thought of throwing it out but damm I spent so much time on it!

Im new to the wood working projects but loving it. One night was searching the web using images and looking for some cool stuf to do scroll work and found some western art work. I was looking at what wood i had in stock and ran accross some pleste-glass i had for some project i planed to do once but never did. Any way I did a cut out of a western cow scull, and had some art in side of it. I do some carvings also so I grabed one of my fine tip med blade and did some eteching on it. Some of the fine work I kepted blade stright. But the shadows and the blur stuff turned blade sideways. Needless to say I now have about seven different works and they all look sweet hanging alone or with a back ground. Note: if you try this rember you have to go very slow but cant stay in one place to long or it melts instead of cutting...
