Thomas I would use a clear lacquer on the portrait myself and use a black background but if you use a different colour then everything will show that colour you'll have to try it with some coloured card and see what it looks like. In some cases I've used different colours cards for different parts eyes lips etc just experiment as what might be good for me might be rubbish for you. lol have fun. Roly

  15. Thanks Ed. I would buy a pair of cheap glasses at the right strength for a few quid and break the lens out and stick them on and see if that works, just a thought. Roly

  19. Not in you class yet DW but I'm having a go at it.
  20. This is the first time I've had a go at a ribboned box the ribbon design is from Steve Good and the box well I just winged it. There have been boxes cut out from solid timber and one's with fancy joints, this one is butt joints red oak and white oak combined for the ribbon 6" x 31/2" x 21/4" finished in vanish. Roly
