  1. What's the keyboard player's name? Sorry, I couldn't let that one go by without smart alec comment. quote name="bobscroll" post="80057" timestamp="1401644085"]I wanted a Mig welder, My wife said she wanted a Keyboard player, So we both got what we wanted, And the value of the items items were similar in price, And we lived happily ever after Bob
  2. I'll have to remember that so I don't do the same thing. The worst print error I've had in my shop wasn't entirely my fault. I built my home heavy work bench that would fold against the wall when I didn't need it. I think it was from a Woodsmith plan. When it was finished I bought a Wilton front vise to install and I took their template and marked the places I needed to tap holes or clean a trough for the screw and the blasted template was wrong. Wilton apologized and sent me some magnetic maple clamping faces but that didn't quite make up for the pain it caused me every time I folded the bench up and saw my hack job. Measure twice and cut once and check your templates! Robb
  3. Sorry for double post. My first post (and my second) didn't show up for a while. I looked at the "active" scroll saw forums available on the internet and this Village seems to be the active one. I'll stay tuned and hope to produce something to post soon. I did an Elvis portrait for my son in law a few years ago with a coping saw and I want to do another one now with my powered coping saw.
  4. Just got my first scroll saw. 26" RBI Hawk on Craigslist. Practice makes perfect I hope. Right now i can stay on one side of the line or the other. The problem is I keep cutting across the line to switch sides. Little saw blade is making a fool out of me. Robb
  5. I just bought my first scrollsaw, a 26" RBI Hawk, and if I use a crayon I might be able to stay on one side of the line (or the other). Practice makes perfect I guess. The man that owned the saw before me has quit practicing on earth and is doing some fretwork in heaven. He was good so it will be appreciated in heaven too. My first real project when I think I can manage it will be fretwork ceiling panels for my dining room. It may be a crazy idea but I can't give up on it yet since I haven't even started. The panels need to be about 20" X 20" and I don't know if I will back light them or maybe just paint a bright color on the ceiling and suspend the panels a little. I won't being doing a difficult design and I imagine that that the last panel will look bettrer than the first. If I need to r&r a few as I get better I will. Damn what a stupid idea. This is going to be a pita unless I actually finish it and my wife likes it. Robb
