Hi Paul. I initially emailed Alec with my requirements and he sent the prices back within a couple of days. I would recommend you ring him as he is very knowledgeable about all things wooden and will be able to recommend some suitably coloured woods for your intarsia. I was going to have a try at intarsia myself but health problems stepped in and I didn't get off the ground with it. I have compared his prices with other suppliers and find him to be very competitive and the quality has been very good. Roy

Hi Paul. I have used a supplier in the North Scotland for some time for hardwoods for both turning and scrolling. He has a large selection of both British and exotic woods and is worth a look at his website. Put Ullapool Woodturning Centre into Google and have a look. Hope this helps. Roy

Hi Lofty and Steve. I live about 40 miles north of Leicester, the other side of Mansfield to Steve in NG16 . I worked in Leicester and Loughborough for a while so I know the motorway down to your neck of the woods very well but I don't miss the journey at all now I'm retired........ Roy
