  1. I won't be a stranger. You all seem to have lots of fun. And I think I can learn a lot about scroll sawing just from reading old threads.
  2. Those are really pretty pens.

Ihope you enjoy your new wood lathe. My husband laughs at me because I enjoy running our WWII era metal working engine lathe. But the wood lathe? No thanks! He's determined that I will learn to like the wood lathe though. Silly man.
  4. Hey am I too late to get in on this breakfast? I have some blueberry muffins I can share! And real Vermont Maple syrup for the pancakes. This is bottom of the barrel grade B, thick as molasses maple syrup. The good stuff.
  5. My spaniels can be at the other end of the field, chasing something and ignoring my call. But I whisper the word "eat" and they will skid to a stop, do a 180 and run back. Heck, judging by the way their ears just perked up, just typing "eat" is enough to get their attention.
  6. Thanks all! What a warm welcome. I am sure I will have lots of questions. Right now I am concentrating on how to do a tight corner. I am getting pretty good at curves and such. But turning a tight corner is taking some more practice. I have watched some youtube videos, which have been pretty helpful. That's how I foudn my way here and I am glad I did! I will try to get my husband to sign on too. He has been turning for about two years and he belongs to a really great turning club. He hasn't had much time to turn lately, but that looks to change pretty soon. I am also going to try to get my daughter to try scroll sawing. She's 22 and also loves to turn and do other crafts. The weather has been coooold and snowy here. That's what made me decide to take the plunge and learn scroll sawing. I had the opportunty to try my hand at it during a demonstartion at Woodcraft and loved it. Money's a little tight right now, so I got a Porter Cable. I like it, but I will probably upgrade to a Dewalt or a Rigid at some point. I will post pictures as soon as I find my camera again. I just did a scotty dog puppy that I really like. I am hoping to do mama dog tonight.
  7. Hi All, My name is Jane aka Mrs Cod, and I grew up on Cape Cod. I am new to scroll sawing. I do lots of other crafts, and I do some woodworking, but I just started using a scroll saw about a week ago. I am enjoying it very much. My husband woodturns so it will be nice to be together in the workshop.
