    Thanks for all the nice comments, I really love doing jewellery boxes, done a few for my wife and friends. I think Mahogany is my favourite wood, it is quite difficult getting a good variety of wood in the UK, I usually buy from a Hobbies site, but restricted to 150mm wide !?

    Hi Steve - It is Mahogany, I tend to use that most of the time, I love the tight grain and the finish you can get. It is just sanded it, then I spray it with Wood Silk Beeswax spray.
