    Well I feel like the village idiot. I did not hit the "customize" and go through all the steps. I did do that this time and the program not only loaded up it gave me the desktop icon and opened when I asked it to. It was a combination of all your answers that led me to success. Thank you all.     I started watching the GIMP tutorials and decided to download the program. At first I could not get it to show up on the desktop, once I got that resolved I am unable to open it. It keeps asking me if I want to install. I have literally told it yes at least 10 times. I installed and uninstalled it 3 times so far and still nothing. I would really like to do some portrait scrolling and this program seems like the best free option. Thank you
